We are very excited to be unveiling our June window next week that will highlight our latest accessories in all kinds of metallic colors for this summer!  The lovely Allison of  Alliope modeled for us wearing quite an elaborate 17th century costume ( that was handmade by yours truly) and will be the featured centerpiece for our new display. The window is sure to sparkle, so be sure to stop by and check it out!

A big “Thank You!” and  “Woohoo!” to Shopgirl, Jenny Coon Peterson,  from the OKC Gazette who kindly included us in her weekly column about local boutiques. Be sure to pick up a copy and tell a friend!

This weekend is the Paseo Arts Festival. If you don’t already know, it’s an awesome community event that showcases loads of beautiful art of all kinds.  PAF also has entertainment, family activities, food and more. If you don’t often get a chance to check out the Paseo district, it’s a good time to go look at the shops and galleries in the area.

The 23rd Street Court, which houses Pippin + Pearl, is technically part of the Paseo district, even though we are a couple blocks away. If you are in the neighborhood, we encourage you to stop by and visit our shop and check out our featured artists, along with our collection of handmade clothing, gifts, jewelry, and toys.  We hope to see you this weekend!

Our book for story hour was “The story of Ferdinand the Bull”,  so we created a coloring contest based on the book. We had tons of wonderful participants (everyone on staff colored one too, just for fun!) and we hung them in the shop. This was the winning entry by Tootie.

Thank you to everyone who came to our shop on Saturday. We were so thrilled with the turn out and we hope everyone had as much fun as we did. The highlight of our day was getting to meet so many new friends and getting so much positive feedback from all of you.

We are working hard on new products for the shop, including fresh jewelry designs from Jennifer Woods, iBeanies (and other electronic device cozies) and teacup candles from Lanie Barrett, and pins, bib necklaces, and dresses from Erin Cooper. Be sure to come visit us soon!

In other news, we’d like to announce the winner of our coloring contest (and the recipient of a 10$ gift certificate to Cuppies & Joe) is Tootie! of “Oh Tootie!”. We will be posting a photo of her winning entry, a festive rendition of “Ferdinand The Bull” that will be gracing the wall of Pippin + Pearl for the rest of the month. So, somebody tell Tootie that she can come to Pippin + Pearl after 1 pm today and pick up her gift certificate!

We had a fantastic interview with Allison of Alliope.com on Tuesday. It’s so amazing to meet local people who are so into building the art and business communities by supporting what we do. I’ve always been involved in small business, but there is something about a retail shop that really plunges you into the community and creates opportunity for connections. It’s REALLY exciting and we are all thrilled to be a part of it.

Anyway, Allison came by to interview us, not 20 minutes after “Shopgirl” from the OKC Gazette stopped by to interview us, and we had a great time chatting with her. Of course, it’s easy to talk about Pippin + Pearl because we are so excited about our little endeavor. The article Allison wrote about us came out today. Go check it out and be sure to comment. Most of all, we hope to see everyone at our Grand Opening celebration on Saturday. We are hard at work planning and preparing for our big day!

We are very proud to be making our official debut in the Mister Rabbit store and would like to invite everyone to come check out our collection of handmade items from local artists. We have something for everyone including babies, kids, ladies, and gents!

The celebration is Saturday, May 22nd, 11-7 pm

We have treats and entertainment planned for the kiddos from 12-2, including a story time (with our wonderful in-house story lady!), free family photos, a coloring contest, and cookies!

We’ve only been open a few days and we’ve already moved things around in the store at least 10 times. It’s funny how as you see people coming in, what they are drawn to, what they reach for… it starts to give you a better idea of how to display items.
