As far as I know, tonsils are useless. Like appendix, wisdom teeth, and top hats… they are a vestige of a different time and no longer serve to do anything particularly useful. I’m not sure why my husband has held on to his as long as he has, considering they have been torturing him for YEARS.
This spring, Tim had a health scare regarding his throat, that we didn’t really talk about at the time for reasons that will be obvious shortly. He had a huge swollen mass that had pushed into his soft palate that was causing some serious discomfort. We visited the ENT for x-rays and they decided to take a biopsy to test the tissue for the “C” word. (I was shakin’ in mah boots!)
In the end, after an exam under anesthesia, it turned out to just be his insane swollen tonsils that were making his life totally miserable, and so our doctor advised us to have them removed.
Cut to tomorrow. Tim is getting ready for 7 am surgery to have his tonsils removed and as far as I know, it’s supposed to be about 2 weeks of total misery after that. I am running CooperHouse, and our new nanny starts Monday. Hold on to your hats, things could get a little crazy around here.
In other news…
I got my ticket today to attend Alt Summit SLC. I had such an amazing time connecting with bloggers last year and enjoyed the panels so much. I really can’t wait to get together with friends, dress to the nines, and have an amazing time. I’ve also pitched an idea I’m really excited about to the event planners. Here’s hoping they like it too — I’d love to get a chance to speak this year! Now, I have to start planning my awesome new business cards and start hunting down the perfect pair of boots!
