11 random things
1. I’ve always felt old, even when I was a little kid. Not old as in “oh my achin’ back”, but just older than everyone around me and whenever I do something irresponsible, I think, “You are TOO OLD to be behaving this way.” (This probably stems from being the oldest child in my family.)
2. I’ll never give up on the idea of being a huge success. It can still happen.
3. I share a birthday with Salvador Dali and I’ve always figured that must be why I’m so absurdly weird.
4. I sang in a band when I was 21. I forced my band mates to do an Elvis Presley cover almost every time we played together.
5. I never sweeten my coffee. Dessert is dessert, coffee is coffee, and never shall the two be confused.
6. I have been obsessed with the ’60s for most of my life. When I was 15 I dressed up as Twiggy for our school Halloween dance and NOBODY knew who I was. Philistines.
7. I didn’t even break a sweat on my wedding day. Marrying my husband was the easiest decision I ever made.
8. I have always been interested in politics and would have considered running for public office if I hadn’t been such a rowdy yayhoo in my early twenties.
9. I’m intensely proud of my unique upbringing as a home schooled Oregonian fisherman’s daughter.
10. I’m also proud to be Irish. I credit my heritage with my ability to hold my liquor. Or not hold it. I forget. ::hiccup::
11. I wasn’t sure I wanted to have kids, but I’m so glad that I did. Being a mom is 49% exasperating, but 51% super awesome fun.

1. What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is usually whichever one I am in the middle of reading. Usually a cook book, or biography of some kind.
2. If you could attend any concert, what would it be?
Elvis in 1956!
3. Who taught you the most cherished lesson and what was it?
My best friend, Echo, taught me to be myself. She made it okay to be different and never made me feel strange or out of place.
4. What is your favorite season and why?
Autumn! Scarf season, Halloween, and the anticipation of the holidays.
5. What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever traveled to?
Paris, by far. I need to go back!
6. What characteristics do you value most in your friends?
Loyalty, creativity, and an easy going nature.
7. What word best describes your personality?
Sushi. Colorful, and adored by few and loathed by many. ;)
8. How would you like to be remembered?
Wow, this is morbid. I think I want to be remembered as someone who loved her family and tried to create beautiful things.

My kids and my art.

Everything! I really love my life and everyone in it. Oh, and coffee. :)
